Statement of Purpose
The purpose of the Behavioral Health Operations Committee is to resolve operational issues within the behavioral health system in Ohio that have statewide implications. The regular members of the committee are the deputy director for administrative services of the Ohio Department of Mental Health (chair), the assistant director of the Dhio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services, the chief executive officer of the Ohio Association of Behavioral Health Authorities and the chief executive officer of the Ohio Council of Behavioral Healthcare Providers.
It is the committe's intent to resolve operational issues in a timely and comprehensive manner. Accordingly, the committee will augment its membership as necessary to deal effectively with the issue at hand with representatives of the Ohio Association of Child Caring Agencies, the Family Service Council of Ohio and staff from two departments and other representatives of the associations . The committee will create work teams if necessary to resolve an issue.
It is also the committee's intent to review and address statewide issues reported from the community that are or will be affecting providers' and boards' ability to effectively manage their business practices. Issues can include addressing the application of existing policy as it affects business operations; however, it is not the intent of this committee to set or change policy. The committee will also only consider issues that have statewide implications and will not attempt to resolve issues that are of a local nature.
Issues can be raised for consideration by the committee via an operational issues form. Issues received by the chair one week prior to the date of the committee meeting will be placed on the agenda for consideration at the meeting. Agendas will be distributed to committee members one week prior to the committee meeting.
The committee will meet on a monthly basis as long as there are issues to consider.
