Pre-Admission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR)

The Pre-Admission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) unit determines whether or not an individual who has an active diagnosis of mental illness meets Medicaid criteria for needing a nursing facility and specialized services. At the present time, ODMH rules define specialized services for mental illness as inpatient psychiatric hospitalization.
