The Office of Support Services (OSS) provides a diverse array of goods and services to state facilities, county health departments and community mental health agencies, including:
- pharmaceuticals and food products
- laboratory, medical and pharmacy supplies
- medical records, forms, personal care and housekeeping products
OSS handles the bidding, term contracts and direct procurement of these items on behalf of its customers. It operates on a not-for-profit basis and receives no legislatively appropriated general revenue funds, as do most other state agencies. Therefore, OSS is self-supporting and earns an income by billing state departments and agencies for its services.
